Federal Issues
While OCHA primarily focuses on children’s health care in Ohio, there are many issues that affect Ohio’s children at the Federal level as well, such as:
- Increased Medicaid reimbursement for pediatric specialist care (which is currently at approximately 40 percent of Medicare specialist reimbursement rates)
- Increased Medicaid enrollment to cover low income children and children with special health care needs
- Addressing regional and state-based variations in quality and access to care for children
- Children’s Hospitals Graduate Medical Education funding
- Evidenced-based improvement in the quality of care for children
- Prescription drug pricing
- Community benefit reporting by Children’s hospitals
- Funding for pediatric research
- Children’s health and safety promotion and education
OCHA works to support these and other important issues and advocate for solutions to national health care challenges.
