Quality of Care,
Transparency and Patient Safety

OUR VISION: TO MAKE OHIO THE SAFEST PLACE IN THE NATION FOR CHILDREN'S HEALTH CARE

Ohio’s children’s hospitals are the national leader in quality of care for our youngest patients, and demonstrate this through a first-of-its-kind statewide collaborative to save children’s lives and save dollars by improving quality in a meaningful, measureable way. In fact, Ohio's children's hospitals have been selected to lead a national learning network to spread their knowledge and best practices across the country.

Ohio children’s hospitals have already demonstrated a successful track record of achieving substantial, life-saving results to improve outcomes and avert costs through several patient safety initiatives that have been spearheaded by leadership at the CEO-level and supported by a talented quality and patient safety leaders group. Read more about lives and dollars saved to date.

SOLUTIONS FOR PATIENT SAFETY

The Ohio Children's Hospital Association is a founding partner in Solutions for Patient Safety, a unique collaboration among health care providers and the business community with the shared aspiration of making Ohio the safest place in the nation for health care.

The collaborative's January 2011 report and news release provide more details about these accomplishments. Additionally, in March 2011, U.S. Health & Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebeilus came to Ohio to recognize Ohio's children's hospitals for their efforts and encourage other states to follow Ohio's best practices and leadership to improve patient safety.
